Production Schedule
Once I knew when I was planning on filming my Project,I created a Production Schedule to help estimate how long the filming should take and what time I would be finished. I gave a copy of this to my other actor and crew so they knew how long they would need to be available for so that they would know how long we would be filming for.
With regard to continuity, you have broken the 180 degree rule when Taheera goes through the door. She enters the previous shot from left to right, then as she comes through the door she goes from right to left. Ideally, you would have set this shot up a bit more to the left, in order to create the illusion of Taheera moving in the same direction (look at Eughan's similar shot). You are a little bit late on the edit (just slightly) for the action match when Taheera opens the door - it's a couple of frames, but it's noticable.
ReplyDeleteYou need to be careful with light - your footage is very dim. Make sure you think about this for your final piece. Similarly, the audio is a little indistinct. There are some audio editing glitches when you cut between shots. The light appears to deteriorate as the scene goes on (I presume you shot this mid-afternoon) and there is something of an impact towards the end.
You don't need a cross-dissolve at 00:21. This would imply passage of time - you should just have a straight cut.
Your shot/ reverse shot is effective and adheres to the 180 rule. Could do with slightly more variety in terms of shot distance (for example, the occasional LS showing both characters, possibly some BCUs or ECUs? You hold perhaps too long on each character. There are also some issues with auto-focus (to do, I think, with the low light) - occasionally the shot seems to "bounce" in and out.
It's a minor point for this task, but you might want to think about the mise-en-scene; if your character is being formally interviewed, she would probably be in a police interview room rather than her home. You would want to establish why she is there for this to work. Has she been arrested, or is this more of an investigation?
Some of the editing cuts out your dialogue. You can edit video and audio separately to avoid this.
