Review

To decide upon where I was going to shoot my scenes I did some location hunting and decided upon which would look the best for the videos i was going to shoot. I created a well detailed storyboard to help my cast and camerawomen understand how the shot would look like and what should and shouldn’t be included. After all the filming was complete I crated a spread sheet to help me decide upon which shots I wanted to use and which shots I didn’t  for when I created the actual project.

When we were filming the outdoor shots it unexpectedly started to rain which I believe made those shots more effective as the sky was naturally darker than usual making it easier for me to change it into black and white and also to help to connote the misery within 'The Village'. The Audio from my camera was surprisingly clear and not muffled. Once I finished editing my videos I decided that it would be a good idea to include some music in the title scene and all of the shots which were based on the outside and just before the inside door opened as I believed that it would help to make the clip seem more eerie and mysterious, therefore connoting the danger and drama which may end up happening. By deciding to make the video completely in black and white was to help give the audience the effect that this place isn’t very colourful and to help put across the idea of the mystery of ‘The Village’  and how this isn’t really a place where anybody would want to be.

However, there is some flaws within the video as some of the scenes don’t run smoothly together and just jump from one to the other. One of the outdoor shots is quite wobbly when the camera is walking with Number 2 due to the fact that the tripod and camera were being carried by the camerawoman. While editing I  realised that at one point when walking to the drive towards the first door there was clearly 2 cars on the drive but when it came to walking up that drive the cars had disappeared. After finishing the video I noticed on one of the first indoor shots that there is some slight giggling from the rest of the crew. Unfortunately one of the indoor shots was unable to be toned into black and white due to the lighting in which that scene was filmed in. The outro music stops quite dramatically which could have been edited to instead fade out to make it more effective.

These images of a Spread sheet shows how I chose the best shots and reasons for as to why I did or dint choose them.{ Note: some of the ones I didn't choose  aren't reasoned as I didn't really have a reason for why I didn't like them as I just didn't find them the best for my project.}

Here is a storyboard for my next project where we have been given a script and we have to plan out what we are going to do and get a general idea of what it will look like, then film and edit it.
